Extra-marital Affairs?Yes or No!!! (Think and Tell)
"Human Relations", a complex yet interesting part of our life, to dilute the complexity of "human relations" we can classify it into three parts.
1) Primary: Parent-child; relation among the siblings; Husband-wife.
2) Secondary: maternal and paternal grandparents; maternal and paternal uncles & and aunts; cousins; in-laws
3) External Relations: Friends; employer-employee; colleagues; relation with fellow citizen and "Extra Marital" relation.
In layman's language, "Extra-marital relations" are relations to be made and nourished out-side the marriage. Different reasons for a person to enter into "Extra Marital Relations"?
Emotional comfort/security;
Need of love and affection;
Biological or physical need and
Sometimes, even just fun.
Whatever may be the need or purpose, such relations are not yet accepted by the society and common people.
Rape, moving in and around red-light areas, male and female prostitutes and even live-in relations are different forms of extra-marital relations. But there are two big differences:
1)For a relation to be an extra-marital relation, one must be married.
2)One can have extra-marital relation, without entering into biological/physical relation?just for "Emotional Comfort". Whereas, all other, above-mentioned relations are to satisfy biological/physical need.
Few famous examples of "Extra marital Affairs", Star of the Millennium Amitabh Bhachan; Princess of Wales Diana; Former President of USA Bill Clinton; For Cricketer Ian Botham, Cricketer Shane Warne, Cricketer turned Politician Imran Khan and Liquor-Baron Vijay Mallya?they are carrying an image of a "Play-boy". May celebrities from entertainment industry; sportsmen and politicians across the globe are into such type of relations.
Why there is so much of hue and cry over such relations? Why people are afraid of accepting such relations? True, two adult people, with mutual consent, whatever they do are no ones business but then why "not accepting it". Why there is hypocrisy?
Certainly there are some biological, psychological, logical and social reasons for that. I am working on a book on "Human Relations" and this will be one of the chapters in that book. (So, just wait for it?I can assure you that it will be worth-waiting). I am looking forward to your comments on it. What do you feel about such relations?
For me, it is something like this:
Once in a week, you like to go for a movie; once in a month you like to party; once in a year you like to go for a vacation, why? Just for a "change".
In good olden days, Kings and Emperors use to have multiple queens; why? Even in 21st century, in some religions and we the communities wherein one is allowed to have multiple spouses, why? Again, the answer in "change".
I am not here to endorse for such relations, but I only like to say that either have control on your instincts or be brave and face the world. Don't have double standards. You can cheat the whole world, but own in your heart, you know what you are.
Awaiting your comments.

Divya Parmar :"...very good article, indeed a very good initiative to share this stuff really a Food for Thought for everyone..."
Prasad SKR: "...I wonder how dare a person openly can admit or accept such a relation he / she has especially in the indian tradition. In recent past on screen it has become a regular phenomenon to view such relations in all most all the channels, finally ending up in a very bad state. However, frankly, to my knowledge most of the people were forced to retire as gentlemen for many a reasons; may be society, fear, family, friends, relatives, employment etc..."
Archana Raha: "...Read your mail and also the link on Ezine. I
must say you have touched a taboo topic and i fully agree with you on this. People and Society dont accept anything outside marriage. While the fact is these relationships, keep many from
succumbing to marital pressures. Unless its only physical and for fun sake, i dont personally think, it should be objectionable"
